Hey y’all! I’m Ashley, an illustrator born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland. I’ve done illustrations for children’s books like Close and Away and coloring books like The Total Healthcare Coloring Book, always with the hope that my art lets kids (and grown folks, too) see themselves and know their stories matter. Representation is so important to me, and I pour my heart into making sure ordinary people can celebrate themselves in my work.

I’m a proud cat mom at heart. My sweet boy Benny was with me for 15 years and passed in July 2026. I got him when he was 3 years old, and he lived to 18 (88 in cat years). I miss him every day. His spirit still keeps me company and reminds me to remain playful and curious just like him.

I dream of designing characters for animation and stop motion one day. Some of my favorite animated series are Hey, Arnold!, Steven Universe, and The Proud Family. Animation has always been magic to me, and I hope to see my own characters be as impactful as Arnold, Steven, and Penny.

I’m a huge fan of sci-fi, mystery, and rom-coms—but give me a good drama, and I’m hooked. My favorite show at the moment is Ted Lasso. I love shows that help us navigate the human experience. Stories like these fire up my imagination and inspire new ideas for my illustrations.

I also love to travel and hope to do more of it in the near future. I’ve called Lima, Peru; Antigua, Guatemala; Medellín, Colombia; and Mexico City home, even if just for a little while. Each city gave me new perspectives and fresh inspiration. My Spanish still needs work, but I’m determined to keep learning. So if you want to help me practice, let’s go!

Lately, I’ve been obsessed with making dolls from polymer clay. Crafting dolls came from a desire to create something tangible and lets me use my hands in new ways. I get to intersect illustration, design, and sewing, a skill I learned from my mother.  

Some of my biggest creative goals are finishing my picture book, designing my own tarot deck, and creating my own cartoon. Every project is a chance to share a lil piece of myself with you, and I hope you see a lil piece of yourself too.
